Hi everyone! I hope your summer is off to a great start. I enjoyed seeing everyone at our cookout last weekend! Thank you for coming and bringing lots of goodies to share with the group.
I have just a few announcements for you this week…
1. Welcome the Harvins! Tammy Harvin and her family are joining our CC community from Greenville, SC. Mrs. Harvin will be a tutor and she is already well versed in CC and tutored in Greenville. They are moving to Hickory on June 12th and we want to give them a warm welcome by taking them some meals during their first week as they settle in. If you would like to contribute a meal for the Harvins, please email me for details on where to sign up!
2. Sign Up for Practicum. Don't forget to sign up to attend our Classical Conversations practicum in July! http://www.
3. Info Meeting - We will have an info meeting at Patrick Beaver Library this Thursday at 6:00. Please pass this along if you have friends interested in CC. You are also welcome to come and bring along your spouse for a refresher on the classical model and what it's all about! https://www.facebook.
4. Park Day - Let's get together and let the kids play on Friday (June 5th) at Conover City Park at 11:00 AM. Bring a picnic lunch and let the kids wear bathing suits if you want. There is a splash pad, playground, and walking trails at the park.
5. Prayer Requests -
- Continue to pray that God will bring the right families to our CC community. We have around 20 kids enrolled in Foundations and 2 in Essentials so far. There are another 8 families that have not yet registered but are interested so pray for them as they make their decisions!
- Pray for a potential new CC community that will start in Maiden this fall.
- Pray for the Harvins as they move and that their home in Greenville will sell!
- Pray for Jennifer Quintanilla and family. She is a CC mom from Newton, who just had a new baby this week and they had a rough start in the NICU but are finally home.
- Pray for our Support Manager, Monica Gardner, as she leads the local directors.
- Pray for our tutors. We have two so far and we need at least one more, but we will likely need two or three more! If this is something that interests you, please email me.
- Most importantly, pray that Hickory CC would be a shining light for the Lord Jesus and that we can see children come to know Him as Savior in the upcoming school year.
