CC Cycle 1 Week 13

Hello families! As we plunge into our second semester, I just wanted to encourage you to keep up the great work. I am seeing amazing progress with our students as I spend time in each class. You're doing a fantastic job of helping your students learn the memory work each week and it's paying off!

For week 13, I have a few fun resources to share as you continue your studies at home…

English Grammar 
For the next few weeks, we're working on helping verbs. You can help you student memorize the definition and the list of helping verbs with this catchy little tune…

Math
Explore liquid equivalents at home this week in a hands on way! Measure out ounces, cups, pints, quarts, and gallons to help your students connect the memory work to real life situations. When you pull out that gallon of milk to make cereal, see if you child can tell you how many quarts of milk are inside the gallon.

You can also make a fun gallon man robot or use these free printables.

Science
Make the layers of the earth out of play-doh - see it here. Or get hands on with some felt with this project:

History
Follow your tutor's lead. Try to implement some hand motions to the song! There are several creative options on CC Connected if you get stuck.

Fine Arts
Here's a fabulous book to add to your home library about Giotto. There are actually a ton of excellent books in this series to help you explore some of the world's greatest artists.
