Essentials Preview Day - Families with rising Essentials students are invited to visit and get a feel for what this class is like. Younger siblings are welcome to visit Club E, but please pay Joy Frady $5 per child since she is so sweet to provide our childcare. Alternately, younger siblings can stay in Essentials if they will sit and draw or play quietly in the back.
Other Important Announcements
1. Registration - If you have not yet turned in your registration for the coming school year, make sure you get those in ASAP. I will open up registration for new families on March 1st. We are limited to only accept 48 students for our campus and those spots are very quickly filling up - as of my last count, only 12 open spots left for Foundations and 11 new students who I feel 98% sure will enroll as soon as we open it up on March 1st! Please let me know if you're returning so your children have a spot saved! After we are full, families can still enroll at the CC campuses in Maiden, Lenoir, Statesville, Morganton, or Denver. Families with Challenge students may also be able to enroll in Newton.
2. Cleaning - Moms, please make sure that you wipe up the tables after your class is finished in science/art. I know it's hectic, but some of the supplies leave a major mess and if we don't wipe it up quickly, it is difficult to get it off the tables. Plaster of paris was EVERYWHERE yesterday and I had to scrub and scrub and scrub several times during the day because it had already dried. If each class will just wipe off the table as they finish, clean up will be much easier at the end of the day. Thanks for helping me with this!
3. Recess Time - Please make sure your students are not running the halls after lunch. They may play outside or in the fellowship hall or in the big classroom where Mrs. Frady's class meets in the mornings. But please keep children from running through the halls. We want to be respectful to the church and we want to keep all the children safe.
4. Opening Song - I know many of you are tired of "Thrive" - I was going to switch it up earlier in the year but honestly needed some time to come up with a new song/motions. We're going to switch to a new worship song this week so if you have a child that is interested in learning the motions ahead of time to lead, let me know! We will try to get them together this week to practice.
5. Challenge A - Next year, we are thrilled to offer Challenge A for our older students in Hickory. Remember that Challenge classes can be taken in any order and used for high school credit so if you or a friend have older students who are interested in this class, please let me know. We are also actively seeking the right person to direct our Challenge A program! If you are interested, please email me for more information.
I think that's it for now. I know this was the longest email ever so thanks for bearing with me! Thank you for all you do to make our community so much fun. I love doing school alongside of your families!
Love,
Amber
